Department: Orthopedic Oncology Department
Patient: Female, age: 4Y
Dr. Amit Sigal
Services: Segmentation, surgery planning, anatomy model, PSI.
The patient had a recurrent osteosarcoma tumor in the palm.
After many thoughts and considerations, the clinical decision was to remove the fourth metacarpal bone, and implant a bone made of bone cement in its place.
The shape of the bone was taken from a mirror image of the healthy hand.
After planning the surgery virtually together with the doctor, a 3D printed customized mold, was also planned, printed and sterilized by us to manufacture the implant in a sterile and precise manner.
The operation was successful
